Theoretical and Experimental Investigation about the Influence of Peltier Effect on the Temperature Loss and Performance Loss of Thermoelectric Generator

Thermoelectric generator (TEG) has great potential in low‐grade waste heat recovery and there is some research on the influence of Peltier effect it. However, most them only consider total performance changes, such as variation power efficiency due to effect, ignore impact temperature TEGs, which core reason changes. To investigate how affects loss at two sides respectively, an experimental setup built analytical model derived. The result shows that cold side less than hot side. a linear relation with product difference loss. maximum power, energy efficiency, exergy occurs particular load range. Within range, reach maximum, respectively. According results, suggestion thermal resistance optimization for TEGs provided.
